WordPress & web development
I worked for many years at EDINA, the university of Edinburgh’s on-site web development team. As the only web designer in the team, I created all interfaces for a wide variety of projects, from online mapping, to the Statistical Accounts of Scotland online, to media libraries and gaelic language websites.
During this time I developed strong front-end web skills including hand coding .html, .css and javascript as well as a good understanding of the several web development frameworks. It was at this time I started working with WordPress to develop the departments own website.

Digimap for Schools
I designed the interface, including all toolbar icons, for this mapping product for use by schoolchildren across the UK.

The Dog Welfare Assessment app for the University of Edinburgh Vet School
The Dog Welfare Assessment app supports vital work in clinics across the world that provide care for stray dogs – an estimated 200 million worldwide.
It enables clinic staff to track the wellbeing of dogs as they go through so-called catch-neuter-return – a common public health strategy in countries with high numbers of strays.
My contribution was the UX and UI. I developed Photoshop visuals for the developer to work from which showed the flow of information. I made use of the Android Material Design guidelines.

Digimap
I designed the interface, including all toolbar icons, for this mapping product for use by academics and students across the UK.

Datavault
Working within the strict UX/UI guidelines for the main University of Edinburgh brand, I designed a data repository for use by university staff.

EIE WordPress website
I created a website for the EIE 2020 and 2021 annual events, which included ticket purchasing abilities, speakers biographies, the agenda, and more.
